Founded in 2017 in the heart of Doha, Qatar, Al Qalam Academy is an international Islamic educational institution committed to delivering authentic, evidence-based Islamic learning rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah. With a strong foundation in traditional scholarship and a clear, future-focused vision, the academy aspires to nurture generations of Muslims who are firmly grounded in knowledge, refined in character, and dedicated in service to their communities.
From humble beginnings as a small Qur’an and Arabic teaching initiative, Al Qalam has grown into a recognized academic and spiritual institution. It is supervised by a distinguished panel of scholars and educators from across Asia and offers both Islamic and academic education, using modern, multilingual, and innovative teaching methods — preserving Islamic values while engaging contemporary minds.
The academy doesn’t merely transmit knowledge; it cultivates character, builds leadership, and prepares spiritually conscious individuals capable of contributing positively to the Ummah and the world.
Its academic and training efforts are organized into three core departments:
🔸 Qur’an Memorization Department (Tahfeez al-Qur’an):
This is the foundation and oldest department of the academy, where hundreds of students — both male and female — are engaged in memorizing the Qur’an under the supervision of certified reciters, experienced scholars, and expert educators. Along with memorization, the department places strong emphasis on Tajweed, proper recitation, spiritual development, and moral growth.
🔸 College of Shariah:
A specialized four-year program designed for post-secondary female students, offering a B.A. in Islamic Studies. The degree is officially accredited by a recognized university in Tamil Nadu, India. The program provides a comprehensive study of Islamic sciences with an academic framework, empowering women to become well-rounded scholars and educators in their own right.
🔸 Ma’had al-Murshideen wal-Murshidat (Institute for Male and Female Guides):
This department offers a range of programs in Islamic sciences, dawah training, diploma courses, and character-building workshops for both men and women. It aims to produce individuals equipped with sound knowledge and effective communication skills — capable of leading, guiding, and reforming society.
In addition to these primary departments, Al Qalam Academy also offers a wide array of programs and enriching activities in skills development, character building, personal growth, and value-based education — creating a holistic environment that blends scholarship with spirituality, and theory with practical application.
The academy is led by its founder and director, Shaykh Abdul Afoo Abdul Ghaffar Al Omeri (may Allah protect him), whose sincere efforts, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in shaping the academy’s identity and impact.

Al Qalam Tahfeezul Qur’an
This department is dedicated to the memorization of the Noble Qur’an, grounded in authentic Islamic methodology, spiritual cultivation, and moral purification. It places strong emphasis on understanding the meanings of the Qur’an and implementing its rulings. The program aspires to nurture a generation of Huffaz who are not only proficient in memorization but also embody the Qur’anic character, using it as a framework for life and a foundation for building upright, value-based personalities.
Al Qalam College of Shariah
A comprehensive four-year academic program exclusively for post-secondary female students, offering a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies. The degree is officially accredited by a recognized university in Tamil Nadu, India. The curriculum offers an in-depth study of core Islamic sciences within a rigorous academic structure, empowering students to become knowledgeable scholars, effective educators, and responsible leaders grounded in Islamic tradition.
Al Qalam Ma’had al-Murshideen wal-Murshidat
(Institute for Male and Female Guides) This department offers specialized programs in Islamic sciences, da’wah training, diploma courses, and character development workshops for both men and women. Its mission is to cultivate a cadre of well-trained du‘āt and educators equipped with sound Islamic knowledge and refined communication skills — capable of guiding, reforming, and positively impacting their communities.
General Academic Education Department
This department delivers certified academic education in essential subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies. The curriculum is aligned with modern educational standards and is seamlessly integrated with Islamic values. The objective is to produce students who are academically competent, morally upright, and well-prepared for real-world challenges, while contributing constructively to the advancement of their societies within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Holistic Education & Enrichment Programs
In addition to its core academic and religious departments, Al Qalam International Academy offers a wide array of enrichment programs aimed at holistic development.
